Ekaterina Kovalevskaya (born 17 April 1974, Rostov-on-Don, USSR).
She earned the title of
Woman Grandmaster in 1998 and the title of International Master in 2004. She is
a two-time winner of Women`s Russian Championship in 1994 and 2000.
Ekaterina also won
two silver medals in the European Women's Championship in 2000 and 2001 In 2004 she placed 2nd
in the Women's World Chess Championship after she was
eliminated in the final by Antoaneta Stefanova.
Being a member of the Russian
National Team she played an important part in the success of the team during
the official completions: 3rd place in the World Chess
Olympiad in 2000 and 2004, 2nd place in the World Chess Olympiad in 1998, 2002,
2006, 2nd place in the Women's World Team Championship in 2007, 2009, the
winner of the European Women's Team Championship in 2007.
