Anna Muzychuk (born 28 February 1990 in Lviv, Soviet Union) is a chess player with a FIDE rating of
2538 (July 2011).
She earned the title of Woman Grandmaster in 2004 and the
title of International Master in 2007. In 2004 she became a member of the
Slovenian chess federation, where she is the strongest female chess player. Her
younger sister Mariya is an International master.
Muzychuk has
played on first board for the Slovenian team since 2004. In the 37th Chess
Olympiad for the Slovenian women's team, seeded 17th, she finished tenth.
She is a
winner and medallist of numerous World and European youth events: the European
Champion in 1996 (girls U8), 1998 (girls U10), 2000 (girls U10), 2002 (girls
U12), 2003 (girls U14) and 2004 (girls U14), 3rd place in the World
Championship in 2000 (girls U10), 2nd place in the World Championship in 2002
(girls U12), 2nd place in the World Championship in 2004 (girls U14), the World
Champion in 2005 (girls U16), 1st place in World Chess Championship U-20 in 2010.
She also became a
winner in Moscow Open Women's Section in 2008.
